Established 1910 · Jasper, Texas
Mamie Patten built this hotel for traveling salesmen and named it for her two daughters. More than a century later the Guizar family has restored it: fresh rooms upstairs, and Chef Ed’s kitchen downstairs at Sujey’s New American Table.

Every room has its own bath, fresh linens, Wi-Fi and a TV. A key on its hook means the room is free tonight.

The All American breakfastMamie Patten’s hotel has watched over the courthouse square for more than a century. Read the whole story.
The Jasper County Courthouse is built on the square, across the street from where the hotel will stand.
Mamie Cornellia Neyland Patten builds the hotel and names it for her daughters, Belle and Miss Jim.
Jasper’s Western Union telegraph office moves in. For forty years, the town’s news arrives at the Belle-Jim.
After her mother’s death, Miss Jim runs the hotel. Traveling salesmen fill the rooms.
Miss Jim dies, and the telegraph office closes with her.
The Belle-Jim is named a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Its marker stands by the porch.
Ed and Sujey Guizar restore the rooms upstairs and open Sujey’s New American Table downstairs.
